Tourism and leisure

Salford's tourism and leisure industry is growing, with over 2,000 businesses providing around 20,000 jobs.

We're proud to be home to the fifth RHS Garden, with Salford City Council and Peel L&P working together to bring the RHS to the region. Now the number one attraction in Greater Manchester, it’s created 162 jobs, with 30 more in the pipeline, and is set to bring an additional 700,00 visitors to the North West by 2028.

The region’s second most visited attraction, The Lowry, offers a diverse programme of theatre, musicals, dance, music, comedy and visual art.

The Lowry is at the heart of Salford Quays, a unique waterfront destination boasting entertainment, leisure, and cultural facilities, hosting large events such as Lightwaves, The Banksy Exhibition and We Invented the Weekend, attracting visitors from across the region.

Vibrant areas such as Monton High Street, Worsley Village and Boothstown have developed and diversified with new cafes, bars and restaurants attracting both residents and visitors alike.
