Salford's towns

The towns of Eccles and Swinton have the potential to play an important role in the growth of both Salford and Greater Manchester.

Eccles, with a population of 42,000, is sandwiched between MediaCity/Salford Quays and Port Salford, while Swinton, with a population of 40,000, is the administrative centre for the city council and home to established industrial areas. Both towns are looking to the future and are at the start of their journey to become two of the best places to live in Greater Manchester.
