Salford City College - leaders in vocational innovation and collaboration
The college has 650 to 700 construction apprentices (working with many businesses who are looking for gas engineers, plumbers, joiners etc) and a number of apprentices in industrial and commercial heating and plumbing.

Salford City College’s Low Carbon Heating Technician Skills Bootcamps aim to equip plumbing and heating engineers with practical skills and knowledge required to install and maintain air source heat pumps and solar thermal hot water systems, while also providing an overview of renewable energy technologies.
Salford City College works in partnership with Innovate UK and the Greater Manchester Colleges Group to deliver the Further Education Innovation Fund (FEIF). Together, they help businesses unlock new avenues for development, foster collaboration with industry leaders, and equip employees with vital skills for the future.
Swinton Sustainable Home Centre and Green Skills Academy
New to Salford is the Sustainable Home Centre from leading heat pump manufacturer, Daikin, and plumber's merchant James Hargreaves. The centre aims to train highly skilled clean energy installers empowering them to embrace renewable heating, providing the area with a pipeline of green skilled trades.
